So, the math has been done before and it’s a pretty well known fact that fireball on an elixir collector is a -1 elixir trade (basically, they spent 6, you spent 4, but they gain 3 out of the collector, so they’re up one elixir), but leaving it alone is -2. So using fireball on collector does reduce your disadvantage, while chipping at a tower.
